The Item Market has had an upgrade!

The new location in Town is now The Marketplace - a place where you can trade horses, items, and currencies.



As I don't have a team of testers and it's just me, this is a very precarious feature. Please treat it with care. I would appreciate it if members would help test out by trading silly things ($1, a carrot, rescue center horse that nobody wants, etc) and helping me find any bugs in the system.

The Item Market is still available but it has been renamed to "Item Listings" and will most likely eventually be phased out as the Marketplace is used.

Once we are sure there are no bugs left with the Marketplace, I will be banning the sale of EVC on the forums as there is now a secure place to list your credits for sale, for the price you want to sell them at.

Preview Foals



You can now preview a potential foal out of a breeding pair when you go to breed horses. There is an additional button next to the "Breed" button called "Preview Foal". It's free to use, and will show you one potential foal result from the breeding match.

New Poll
In light of the numerous bugs we are currently having with foals not being born, mares remaining pregnant for too long, and my inability to find any issues in the code: I wondered if it was time we just accepted defeat and went back to the old system of foals being born instantly.

woah the market place is so cool! :o i was just thinking about listing all my sugar cubes so sale and this makes it so much nicer! :D also yay for foal previews, although ub has made an awesome genotype calculator that i use heavily its so nice to be able to see one potential outcome :3

and i voted instant foals mainly because i'm super impatient XD i still think that keeping a breeding cooldown is important but for the foal to be born right away would be awesome

Question!
Is your $1000 deposit returned if you successfully trade your item? It says it's not returned if your listing expires but doesn't say anything about a returned deposit, just to be clear.

And just had a trade accepted and the link leads to a blank trade fyi with a selection screen to make another offer (Trade id 5)

I'm loving this new feature though! And the foal preview works yay! Thanks for the great things Abbey!

Trade was composed of one horse and $1

When I switch from "Marketplace" to the "Item Listings" I cannot come back and there are 2 markets on the screen. If I want to see items on sale on the market I have to go to the town and then enter the "Marketplace".

If it switches the bug, I'm fine with instant foals though I still think mares should have a cool down of a week (or maybe even 2 weeks) to prevent so much overbreeding ;)

I don't care either way; whether we have a gestation period or not with our foals. As long as you get the foal! That bug is driving a lot of people nuts; including me awhile back!

I can't wait to make use of that Marketplace update!

Could you use the preview button multiple times to generate a possible different outcome, for the same probable foal, if there is one?

Also you said no credit sales on the forums, how about private sales from friends/dealers? Just so long as we don't clog up the boards with those type of forum posts?
