Auto-Treating and Horse Achievements!

← Back to News

Preferred Treats

Treat assignments are back! It's been a long time coming, but I've finally added treat assignments back into the game.

I have shuffled around the horse page a little bit so that there's room for the feature, but it will be displayed at the bottom of the "Currents" list on your horse's page. The icon will show as greyed out (or lightened) when the horse hasn't been treated today. If you click on it, similarly to the care tools at the top, it will use a treat from your inventory to give to the horse.

Yes, this feature is also included in Auto-Care. You will need to make sure you have enough treats in your inventory to cover all horses in the division otherwise Auto-Care won't work at all. Unlike the old system where it used to tell you that you had run out of treats, this time it will tell you you don't have enough and none of the caring will take place.

Horse Achievements

We now have horse achievements! There are currently 6 achievements to earn for each horse you own, and each achievement you earn will reward the horse with completely pointless achievement points ;) but it will also award you with a cash prize for helping your horses earn the achievements!

These achievements will only be awarded when you access your own horse's page - you will receive the achievement notification and any prize attached.

Any achievements your horses earn can be viewed at the bottom of their page.

Smaller Updates!
* Your Riding School selections will now "stick" - meaning that the number of hours you choose for each type of lesson will remain in the text input for the next horse when you submit.
* To prevent confusion with horses that are gray but are displaying a different color because they are young, I have changed the color to the horse's displayed color for horses under the age of 4. Horses aged 4-7 will show the displayed color with "(graying)" next to it. Horses over the age of 7 will display as "Gray".
* Horses without a specialty will now show as "[N1 N/A]" instead of "[N1 ]" in the showing/training dropdown list (using N1 as an example).

I am away
I will be around for the next couple of days to bug fix any of the new features here today, but from the 2nd to the 17th November I will not be around. I am on my honeymoon for two weeks in LA and will have very limited internet access. (If you have any suggestions of great places to eat or do stuff in LA/American things in general[chain restaurants/stores/etc], let me know ;D).

Moderators may point you to this news post if you are having any issues around the game which can only be fixed by myself. Unfortunately I will be unable to do anything until I get back, so please be patient.

This may be the best news update I've ever read. :D SO thankful for treating going back to the way it was, and I totally dig the achievements addition.

If you happen to have a layover in Denver, Only the Wind and I will come say hi. :D

On the achievements, do I need to unlock locked horses and then open their pages to receive this? Looks great on the ones I've seen so far?
Also I haven't been able to do the treats yet, hoping it gets to working soon! Great updates Abbey!!

Are the achievements ever gonna have a purpose? Like do you plan on doing anything with it later (even if it's way further down the road)?

Oh wow Abbey you really listened to all of us, I love the new set up! You are an amazing admin, I've never played a game where they re-code an entire page so fast ♥

And as for LA, I've been there a lot, I'm an 8 hour drive away! There's disneyland of course, but thing you must do that I KNOW you'll love is Medieval Times. You get assigned a team with a "knight" and you sit in a large indoor arena where you are given a 4 course meal while you watch a jousting match on real horseback. The food is delicious and the experience is amazing. There's a part where the knight throws a flower to the "fairest maiden" in the audience, and when I was 8, my knight threw it at me, but missed and another little girl in front of me got it. I went back at least 3 or 4 years later, and we were given the exact same knight and he must have remembered me, because he threw the flower to me yet again, and I caught it the second time. Truly a memorable experience lol

Love this update Abbey!
And just so you know your Auto-Care link in the upper description links to an oasis.php instead of credit-shop.php ;]

And I hope you enjoy your time in LA, Disneyland is definitely fun and the churros are amazing. I hear there's tons of amazing horse places down their also!

The auto-care link should be working now, whoops :)

@heiro - we actually have already booked Medieval Times! We're going to BlizzCon and it's one of the companies offering discounted tickets to people going to BlizzCon :D now I can't wait for that even more haha.

@Sabriel - we were thinking of Universal rather than Disneyland, we had a look at the attractions of each and Disney seems to be catered more to young children? I could be very wrong, but I'm definitely excited to go to Universal because of the Harry Potter stuff :D

Now, these are amazing updates, extra happy about the treat management and riding school! The grey not being emediatly apparent is fine, for me. It's a very easy thing to find out If they are anyhow, with a gene test. Sellers should probably look at that and add the extra cost for it on the foals price, that isn't by any means hard to come by, even for a new player!

So when I click on autocare, all my horses will get a treat? I don't like that. Is there a possibility to turn that feature of?
I have my own way of giving treats and I'm a bit scared that the auto-treat will be something different then the treat I want to give. That would mean I can't autocare my horses anymore if I don't want the horses to get the 'wrong' treat (the auto-treat), but then I have to care for all my horses one by one and that is also not what I want ..

It is a great update and really useful for a lot of people, but for someone who rather gives the treats herself this is not so great.
Maybe you could make this an option in the feature?

The other updates sound great. Love the first small update! Keep up the good work Abbey and enjoy your honeymoon. :D

@Abbey
As a kid at heart and someone who hates rollercoasters and scary things, I can say Disney is amazing, but then I've only been there once for a Band thing in High school so I can't say to much! I have heard Universal is really cool though, Sadly I've never been, but It's always sounded quite fun(and who doesn't love Harry Potter? Also Minions), so if you have to make a choice, I'd say you should probably go to Universal just the two of you, Save Disney for if you ever go with kids xD
Also eat some authentic Mexican while you're here, I swear that's by far the best thing about living in California besides the weather and fresh local produce.

@Atanza
You can still treat horses before using autocare and give them whatever treat you want! Also you can autocare horses with no treat assignments if you're worried about doing it accidentally, Just go to the manage page and remove the assignments from your horses if you don't want to use them!

@Sabriel - we will try to find somewhere that has authentic Mexican, I take it Taco Bell doesn't count :P

@Atanza - exactly what Sabriel said. You don't have to assign treats to horses if you don't want to, you will be able to use the auto-care tool without assigning treats. Auto-care only won't work if you have treats assigned but have none of those treats in your inventory.

Is anyone else having problems with the treat system or am I doing something wrong. I have assigned my treats.... made sure I had plenty in inventory... it is still saying I don't have enough of the treat on hand and not letting me feed everyone..... ?????help?????
